Gratitude

Why We Are Grateful

We at Duncan Dirt Works take every project from start to finish with the utmost care as if it were our own. In truth, every project is our own as it has our reputation built into it. That reputation is what gives each of our clients the security of knowing their project will be a success.

The success of our company is built on three things. The first is the hard work that goes into learning any skill and how to apply it to achieve any goal. Each project builds upon the other providing opportunities to further hone our abilities.

Building a solid trustworthy business takes courage. Stepping out beyond your comfort zone and applying your skillsets to help others takes building a community. Duncan Dirt Works from its inception has relied on friends and family to build that initial community to grow this business. The foundation of our company is built on what we say is what we do. Duncan Dirt Works gives back to the community locally in Council, Adams County, Idaho, and our nation.

The final component is the trust that is built up over time with our clients who become friends and part of our extended family. Trust is important in growing a business because the client has to trust you with their project which is connected to their dreams, livelihood, and future. Trust is one of the few things in life you can build over time and lose in a moment.

There is no higher praise than when someone shows the community at large they trust you.

The Mahons took a risk and financially supported Duncan Dirt Works by providing the loan to acquire our first machine to start our business. Duncan Dirt Works has grown because of the trust of Mark and Joe Mahon. The Mahons took another risk and hired Duncan Dirt Works as a Tom Mahon Logging,Inc. sub-contractor.  In the world of construction, any company that hires a sub-contractor takes a risk with its reputation and clientele. They took that risk and hired Duncan Dirt Works to build logging roads. This led to expanding our business into being a government contractor. Duncan Dirt Works used that expansion to pay off the first machine and proved they were worth the risk.

Trust continued to build when we needed a second machine to grow the business and Tom and Judy Mahon provided the loan demonstrating their trust in us. The loan was paid back and soon a third machine was added to the business because the Mahon family trusted Duncan Dirt Works.

Duncan Dirt Works is grateful for the Mahon family believing in our vision, trusting us as a sub-contractor, and building that trust into an invaluable partnership.  They have become a part of our family and we are forever grateful for their kindness, generosity, and trust.

Giving Back to the Community

Duncan Dirt Works strives to build community wherever they serve.  When the community organizations has needs…Duncan Dirt Works stepped up to fill them. Some examples are below.

How We Give Back

Adams County Sheriff's Office

The Sheriff's Office budget is extremely low, their medical benefits does not cover family members and if a deputy is injured or lost their life in the line of duty…the limited budget would not meet the immediate needs of the family.

Duncan Dirt Works stepped up and decided to start the AdamsCounty Sheriff's Foundation to raise funds (which DDW donates on a regular basis) so they can help their deputies families if he/she are injured in the line of duty, they can help the family with their bills, be it mortgage, rent, utility bills, groceries....etc.

Knowing that there could also be unforeseen medical emergencies Duncan Dirt Works led the Foundation to raise funds in the event of catastrophic emergencies and illnesses of the department’s family members. Looking into the future and mitigating a negative issue is a hallmark of Duncan DirtWorks.
